I want to disable ClearType by program using eVC++ 3.0 for all the software of the PDA. I know that the first step is to remove the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\CLEARTYPE from the registry. But the display is not automatically refreshed and cleartype is always active unless I reset the PDA.

Disabling the font smoothing may help. If he is using windowsXP, it could be set to use "ClearType" which tends to blur the text a bit. That can be disabled in the display properties. His machine is Windows 98SE, and he was using 1024 x 768 prior to installation of the new card. Font smoothing is not enabled.
